KYIV. Oct 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – At the beginning of October, the IMC agricultural holding completed sowing winter wheat for the 2024 harvest, for which it allocated 20,300 hectares, the press service of the agricultural holding reported on Facebook.
According to the report, the warm and dry weather of September allowed IMC to sow all planned areas with winter wheat, and precipitation in the second ten days of October helped obtain healthy winter shoots.
In addition, at the end of the second ten days of October, the agricultural holding completed sunflower threshing on an area of 32,100 hectares, from which 92,700 tonnes were collected with an average yield of 2.9 tonnes/ha.
At the same time, the yield on the lands of the north of Chernihiv region, which were not cultivated last year due to the occupation and the further need to be examined for the presence of explosive objects, amounted to 2.2 tonnes/ha. In the remaining areas of IMC in Chernihiv, Sumy and Poltava regions, the sunflower yield was 3.3 tonnes/ha.
“As for the sunflower harvest, its average yield is not a record for IMC, taking into account the indicated objective reasons, but nevertheless, the overall harvest and quality indicators of sunflower give hope for its successful sale for processing,” IMC operating director Oleksandr Verzhykhovsky emphasized.
