By KYIV. Nov 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Two resource traders from Dubai have been added to the Russian part of the UK’s sanctions list, the British government said on Wednesday.
Paloma Precious DMCC and Howard John Baker associated with it are included in the chain through which revenue from gold sales in an amount of more than $300 million reached Russia, the statement said.
Paramount Energy & Commodities DMCC, for its part, was involved in actions aimed at weakening the effect from the price ceiling on Russian oil introduced by the G7 countries, it said.
This is not the first time Western countries are introducing sanctions against entities based in the United Arab Emirates. The large-scale SDN List updated by the United Sates last week also included entities from Dubai.
