KYIV. Nov 22 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Insurance companies-members of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU) in January-October 2023 concluded 6.366 million contracts of compulsory civil liability insurance of land vehicle owners (OSAGO), which is 8.53% more than in the same period a year earlier.
According to data published on the MTIBU website, 4.340 million contracts were concluded electronically – 20.6% more than in January-October last year.
Over the 10 months of 2023, members of the Bureau increased the collection of insurance premiums under MTPL policies by 26.43% compared to the comparable period in 2022, to UAH 7.107 billion, including under electronic contracts by UAH 5.303 billion (38.86% more).
The total volume of accrued insurance compensation under domestic insurance contracts increased by 37.55%, to UAH 3.097 billion, including UAH 680.2 million paid using the European accident record form (46.29% more).
The Bureau also recorded an increase in the number of settled claims for insurance compensation by 13.5%, to 103,900, including data on the use of the European accident record form – 41,530 (15.76% more).
MTIBU is the only association of insurers in Ukraine that provides compulsory civil liability insurance of land vehicle owners for damage caused to third parties. The members of the Bureau are 35 insurance companies.
