About 1,300 people evacuated from flood zone by 15:00; 13 settlements flooded on Dnieper's right bank; over 260 households flooded – emergency service

KYIV. June 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – As of 15:00, about 1,300 people have been evacuated from the flood zone due to the explosion of the dam of Kakhovka hydroelectric power station (HPP), the State Emergency Service said.

“Currently, local authorities, together with rescuers and the National Police, are carrying out evacuation activities in flood zones. As of 15:00, about 1,300 people have been evacuated,” the State Emergency Service said on the Telegram channel on Tuesday.

According to preliminary information, some 13 settlements on the right bank of the Dnieper river are now flooded and more than 260 households.

Psychologists from the Rescue Service are reportedly working at the points of assistance to the population. A reserve of forces and means of the State Emergency Service has been created to remove the consequences of an emergency.
