KYIV. Nov 22 (Interfax-Ukraine) – As of the morning of November 22, there were around 2,700 trucks queued on the Ukrainian-Polish border towards three checkpoints – Yahodyn-Dorohusk, Rava-Ruska-Hrebenne, and Krakovets-Korczowa – Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko has said.
“The Polish side allows a few trucks per hour to cross the border in both directions. It can be two, five or eight [vehicles]. There is no constant number. Of course, this has significantly slowed down the flow of freight vehicles. This morning, there was a queue of around 2,700 trucks towards Ukraine in three directions in the territory of Poland, according to information from Polish border guards,” he said on the air of the national telethon on Wednesday.
According to the official, the longest queue of 1,200 trucks was near the Krakovets checkpoint, around 900 trucks – opposite the Yahodyn checkpoint, and 600 – opposite the Rava-Ruska checkpoint.
“More or less intense traffic is in the direction of the Krakovets checkpoint. But the blocking of these directions added to the queue in the others – in particular Shehyni. Traffic is not blocked there, but, according to the Polish side, there were 1,300 trucks in queue in the morning,” Demchenko said.
