Assistance worth UAH 1.9 bln agreed upon under eRecovery program – Shuliak

KYIV. Oct 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Under the state program eRecovery, the payment of assistance totaling UAH 1.9 billion has been agreed upon; in total, Ukrainians submitted 52,6 00 applications, said head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on the organization of state power, local government, regional development and urban planning, Olena Shuliak (the Servant of the People faction).

According to her, the pace of applications has increased over the past week: in mid-October, an average of 167 applications were submitted per day, while today it is 300. The application refusal rate is 14%.

Shuliak clarified that the amount of assistance paid for the repair of damaged housing reached UAH 1.7 billion. At the same time, the leaders in the amount of compensation paid are Kharkiv region – UAH 515 million, Kyiv (UAH 373 million) and Donetsk (UAH 103 million) regions come next.

The average bill for repair services and the purchase of building materials for damaged property is more than UAH 11,000, the MP noted.

At the same time, the pace of filing applications for compensation for destroyed housing has also increased. As of October 20, the number of such applications is 4,689, 285 housing certificates have already been generated. The percentage of refusals on applications is 11%.

According to Shuliak, the average amount of certificates also increased – to UAH 1.9 million from 1.4 million. In terms of the amount of housing certificates generated, the leaders are Kyiv (UAH 295 million), Kharkiv (UAH 126 million) and Donetsk (UAH 60 million) regions.

As reported, on May 10, 2023, the eRecovery program was launched in Ukraine, under which owners of damaged housing began to receive compensation of up to UAH 200,000 for repairs. These funds can be used to purchase building materials, pay for construction work and services of contractors who have the appropriate codes for the work and their sellers have applied for participation in the program through the Diia portal.

In addition, on August 1, Diia began accepting applications for compensation for housing destroyed due to the war. Compensation will be paid to individual owners of housing that was destroyed due to hostilities after February 24, 2022, cannot be restored, and is located in unoccupied territory and not in a zone of active hostilities.
