KYIV. May 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Head of the Main Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Major General Kyrylo Budanov, in an address on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation, promised the Russian occupiers revenge “for every destroyed house, countless victims and suffering of children and mothers.”
“On May 8 we celebrate the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation. On this day, honoring the feat of the Ukrainian people, their outstanding contribution to the victory of the anti-Hitler coalition, we express respect and gratitude to all the fighters against Nazism. Ukraine, unfortunately, is again the epicenter of confrontation with the aggressor. Now, at the cost of our lives, we are defending not only ourselves, but the whole world,” Budanov said in a statement.
The head of intelligence said that having unleashed the war, the Russian occupiers saw their imperial project as the end of “Ukrainian history,” but they faced total, all-encompassing resistance from the entire Ukrainian people.
“And for every rocket and bomb, for every destroyed house, for the countless victims and suffering of children and mothers, for every crime committed in Ukraine, we will avenge! The Russian horde will choke on the blood of its soldiers on our Ukrainian land. For not a single army in the world will overcome a nation that has an immortal will to live, an invincible fortitude and a mighty, brave army,” Budanov said.
