KYIV. May 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicle that lost control was liquidated in Kyiv region, the causes of the malfunction are being established, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
“On May 4, at about 20:00 in Kyiv region, during a scheduled flight, the Bayraktar TB2 UAV lost control. The target was destroyed!” the message says.
According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the uncontrolled stay of the UAV in the sky of the capital could lead to undesirable consequences, it was decided to use the crews of mobile fire teams.
“Probably, we are talking about a technical malfunction, the reasons are being established,” the department said.
As a result of combat work and the fall of the UAV wreckage, there are no victims or injured, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.
