KYIV. May 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine has stripped the protected status of two monuments to the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin in Kyiv.
“The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy has recognized two monuments to the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin in Kyiv as not subject to entry into the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine, Objects of Cultural Heritage,” the ministry’s press service said.
In particular, the “Monument bust to A.S. Pushkin”, located at 1 Mykhailo Yemelyanovych-Pavlenko Street, as well as the “Bust of A.S. Pushkin”, located at 37-A Vyacheslav Chornovil Street.
It is noted that the decision was made taking into account the conclusions of the Expert Commission on the accounting of cultural Heritage objects under the Ministry of Culture, based on the submission of the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection of Kyiv City State Administration.
