KYIV. Oct 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Gazprom will start gas supplies to China via the Far Eastern route no later than 2027, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said on Sunday.
“We have signed a new agreement to build a gas pipeline from the Far East that took effect. This is another 10 billion cubic meters of gas to those 38 billion cubic meters that we have defined for the supply via the Power of Siberia [pipeline]. We have a deadline of 2027 for the start of deliveries along the Far Eastern route,” he said.
As reported, the contract on the Far Eastern route signed by Gazprom in February 2022 provides for the supply of up to 10 bcm per year to China for at least 25 years. The two countries’ governments also signed an intergovernmental agreement that mainly governs the construction of a cross-border gas pipeline across the Ussuri River.
