KYIV. May 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The German government is preparing a package of military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of EUR 2.7 billion, the press service of the German Defense Ministry reports.
“The federal government is preparing a EUR 2.7 billion military assistance package for Ukraine. This should continue to support Ukraine in defending itself against Russia’s illegal war of aggression,” the Twitter post reads.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, commenting on the announced aid package, said that Germany would continue to provide the necessary assistance to Ukraine for as long as needed.
“With this valuable contribution of urgently needed war materials, we show once again that Germany is serious about its support. We all want this terrible and illegal war of Russia against the Ukrainian people to end as soon as possible. Unfortunately, this is not yet foreseen. Therefore, Germany will provide any assistance – as much as necessary,” the minister stressed.
