Govt approves attraction of EUR 200 mln from EBRD for Ukrzaliznytsia – PM

KYIV. May 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the attraction of EUR 200 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for Ukrzaliznytsia, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said.

“Together with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, we are preparing a project to restore the railway. We are making a decision to raise EUR 200 million from the EBRD for Ukrzaliznytsia,” Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Friday.

According to him, these funds will be used to purchase equipment needed to restore the railway corridors from the European Union, improve passenger traffic and purchase additional locomotives.
