KYIV. May 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has regulated the operation of notaries in the territory with a low intensity of hostilities, the Justice Ministry said on Wednesday.
The government adopted the resolution on amendments to some government resolutions on notaries, public registration, and the functioning of public electronic information resources under martial law at a meeting on May 9.
As the Ministry of Justice said, the adopted resolution will ensure the objective possibility of functioning public electronic resources and direct access to administrative services for residents of territories with a low intensity of hostilities.
In particular, in the field of notaries, the adopted changes provide for the regulation of such issues as verification of the validity of a power of attorney issued without special forms of notarial documents; and the abolition of a number of restrictions on the performance of certain notarial acts, in particular, certain types of transactions. The rule on suspending the period for accepting an inheritance or refusing to accept it during martial law is also removed.
The resolution also cancels some restrictions in the field of public registration of rights to real estate and business.
In particular, the resolution defines the circle of persons to whom testing applies as a form of control in the areas of public registration. It also determines the procedural issues of its implementation, including in the event of air raid alerts.
