KYIV. May 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine exported 404,000 tonnes of agricultural products through the seaports of Odesa region for the 40th week of the grain corridor from May 1 to May 7, which is 10% less than a week earlier, the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB) said.
"Unfortunately, the current anti-record of minimum shipments of the week has been updated due to the constant blocking of the full-fledged work of grain corridor," UCAB said, adding that there were fewer only in the first three weeks of the corridor’s operation.
According to it, the number of loaded ships remained at the level of the previous week, namely 11 units, but they have not yet passed the necessary inspection to continue moving to customers.
According to UCAB, in the structure of exports of Ukrainian agricultural products in the 40th week, the largest shares fell on wheat (41%) and corn (40%), another 13% – on sunflower oil (13%).
Ukrainian products went to Europe (Spain and the Netherlands) some 216,000 tonnes, Asian countries (Bangladesh, China and Turkey) some 139,000 tones and Africa (Tunisia and Morocco) some 49,000 tonnes.
In total, since the start of grain corridor from August 1, 2022 to May 7, 2023, it was possible to export 29.7 million tonnes of agricultural products, UCAB recalled, which brings the average shipment volume per week to 742,500 tonnes.
