KYIV. May 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – This week, the Israeli civil warning system for missile strikes has been launched in Kyiv, Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevhen Kornichuk said on Wednesday.
According to The Jerusalem Post, the system identifies missiles and projectiles of all kinds. It also calculates how much time people in the area need to find shelter.
“This is very important for our civilian and military infrastructure. It is equipment that will allow us to save lives,” the ambassador said.
Korniychuk requested a missile warning system from Israel after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine last year. The previous government promised the system to Ukraine, but the ambassador noted the personal involvement of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in ensuring the rapid completion of the project.
