KYIV. May 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni assured President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who is on a visit to Rome, of further military assistance.
“We will continue to provide support, including military one, so that Ukraine can enter into negotiations with a firm position,” she said at a joint press conference with Zelenskyy on Saturday.
The Prime Minister of Italy stressed that this is important, because “there must be real peace, not capitulation.”
“We will not tire of repeating that we support Ukraine and condemn the brutal, barbaric aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. Italy plans to continue on this path. I want to emphasize to President Zelenskyy our full support for as long as necessary,” Meloni said.
She added that Italy would provide support through both bilateral agreements and multilateral agreements. In particular, the Prime Minister reiterated her full support for all sanctions against the Russian Federation.
