London to host conference 'Ukraine's Recovery: Rebuilding with Research' on May 15-16 in support of cooperation on country's reconstruction

KYIV. May 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – On May 15-16, London will host a conference entitled “Ukraine’s Recovery: Rebuilding with Research”, co-organized by the Fund of the President of Ukraine for Education, Science and Sports, the press service of the Ukrainian head of state has said on the president’s official website.

“The Fund of the President of Ukraine for Education, Science and Sports, together with the Royal Society and the Universities Policy Engagement Network (UPEN), are organizing a conference ‘Ukraine’s Recovery: Rebuilding with Research’,” it said on Wednesday.

The event will take place in London on May 15-16. It is aimed at supporting Ukrainian researchers, strengthening and development of long-term cooperation between the governmental and academic institutions of Ukraine and the UK.

“For the first time in the history of independent Ukraine, the Royal Society will support Ukrainian scientists in conducting research that will be taken as a basis for the development of policies within the framework of the recovery programs for our country,” the press service said.

The conference will bring together researchers from Ukrainian and UK universities, profile deputy ministers who will outline the priorities of the research that will be used for the development of solutions to deal with economic challenges and needs of Ukraine during and after the war in the spheres of public health and welfare of the population, planning of the “green” recovery and development of human potential.

The event is funded by Universities UK International and Research England and supported by the Academy of Medical Sciences, British Academy, and the Royal Academy of Engineering.
