KYIV. May 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – French President Emmanuel Macron said that France had “opened the door” to train Ukrainian fighter pilots, CNN reports.
“We have opened the door to training fighter pilots…Training can start right away,” the president said in an interview with the French TV channel TF1 on Monday.
When asked if France would send fighter jets to Ukraine, Macron replied that he was not talking about “aircraft,” but rather about “missiles” and “training.”
“We will not deliver weapons that would allow [Ukraine] to reach Russian soil,” Macron said.
As reported, on May 14, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and French President Emmanuel Macron held a meeting.
