KYIV. May 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – In March 2023, state-controlled PrivatBank received another UAH 7.314 billion of net profit, two more state-owned banks entered the top three most profitable, namely Ukrgasbank – UAH 944.7 million and Ukreximbank – UAH 717.1 million.
According to the data published by the National Bank of Ukraine on its website, the next is the bank with Ukrainian capital FUIB – UAH 546.7 million.
The foreign subsidiary UkrSibbank closes the top five – UAH 539 million.
There are four more foreign subsidiaries in the second five: OTR Bank – UAH 412.2 million, Citibank – UAH 409.3 million, Sense Bank – UAH 389.4 million and Raiffeisen Bank – UAH 363.6 million, as well as state-controlled Oschadbank – UAH 243.6 million.
The list of 14 unprofitable banks was headed by Globus Bank – UAH 62.2 million, Industrialbank – UAH 54.8 million and Avangard Bank – UAH 49.8 million.
At the same time, Avangard Bank’s total assets decreased from UAH 10.1 billion to UAH 1.5 billion in March, probably due to the exclusion of their investments in securities, which moved the financial institution from the 26th place in terms of assets immediately to 51st among 65 banks operating in the country.
In general, in March, the net profit of banks increased to UAH 12.58 billion from UAH 6.61 billion in February, and excluding PrivatBank – to UAH 5.26 billion from UAH 4.20 billion.
At the same time, if in February-January the assets of all banks increased by UAH 43.18 billion, then in March – by UAH 26.07 billion, including state-owned Ukrgasbank – by UAH 12.05 billion, PrivatBank – by UAH 7.56 billion, the foreign subsidiaries Credit Agricole Bank – by UAH 6.86 billion, OTP – by UAH 6.12 billion.
