KYIV. May 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Net sales of U.S. dollars by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) rose in the second week of May to $535.7 million from $258.8 million a week earlier.
According to the NBU on its website, from May 8 to May 12, 2023, its purchase of foreign currency grew to $16.5 million from $15.9 million, while its sale rose to $552.2 million from $274.7 million.
In the cash market, the U.S. dollar rose by only UAH 0.05, to about UAH 37.70/$1, by the end of the week.
In total, since the beginning of this year, the NBU has bought $97.3 million on the market, while selling $9.444 billion.
