Net sales of NBU in first week of May fall to $274.7 mln

KYIV. May 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Net sales of U.S. dollars by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) fell in the first week of May to $258.8 million from $442.1 million a week earlier.

According to the NBU on its website, from May 1 to May 5, 2023, its purchase of foreign currency grew to $15.9 million from $2.7 million, while sales fell to $274.7 million from $444.7 million.

In the cash market, the U.S. dollar lost another UAH 0.18 in price over the week, to about UAH 37.65/$1.

In total, since the beginning of this year, the NBU has bought $80.9 million on the market, while selling $8.892 billion.
