Number of vessels in port of Izmail unchanged over one week, in port of Reni grows by four

KYIV. Oct 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The number of ships in the port of Izmail (Odesa region) on Monday, according to the Marine Traffic application for monitoring naval traffic, decreased by one ship, to 89, the arrival of 14 more ships is expected.

In addition, on the same day in the port of Reni (Odesa region) on Monday there were 16 ships compared to 12 last week. Two more ships are expected to arrive.

As reported, the ports of Big Odesa, after the termination of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, partially resumed operation. According to the head of the Monitoring Group of Sanctions and Freedom of Navigation of the Institute of Black Sea Strategic Studies, Andriy Klymenko, 42 vessels with a total deadweight of 1.7 million tonnes arrived at the ports of Big Odesa along the temporary corridor established by the Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from September 16. A total of 23 ships have already left ports with cargo and are heading or have already arrived at their destinations.

Thanks to the functioning of the temporary corridor towards the ports of Big Odesa in September, Ukrzaliznytsia increased grain exports by one third, to 1.075 million tonnes.
