Peace to come to Ukraine when Russia stops hostilities – Italian PM

KYIV. May 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Peace will come to Ukraine when Russia stops hostilities, Moscow must stop aggression and withdraw its troops, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has said.

“We will come to peace only when the Russian Federation stops conducting hostilities and attacks on civilian targets. We will continue to appeal to Moscow to stop the war and withdraw its troops from the territory of Ukraine,” she said at a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday in Rome.

According to the prime minister, Italy supports a diplomatic solution to the military conflict and is ready to provide any assistance “when Kyiv is ready for negotiations.”

Meloni also once again spoke out in support of Zelensky’s ten-point peace formula.
