Polish Pronar plans to enter Ukrainian mine clearance market with new equipment

WARSAW. Oct 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Polish-based Pronar, a large manufacturer of agricultural and municipal equipment, is patenting a special machine for clearing mines from fields and construction sites, planning to begin its mass production for the needs of Ukraine in 2024, said Pronar’s director of trade and marketing Radoslaw Bielecki.

“A team of 150 engineers is working very closely with partners in Ukraine to overcome existing challenges … mined agricultural fields, so that agricultural machinery has special integrated systems that can solve these problems,” he said at the forum “Ukraine-Poland. Machinery and Equipment Sector” under the patronage of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency and the Polish Association of Construction Industry Employers in Siemiatycze.

Bielecki declined to provide more specifics until the patent process is completed, saying the vehicle would be automated, remotely controlled, and could be used in fields, construction sites and other open areas.

According to him, this is another product line that Pronar has designed specifically for use in Ukraine.

“The newest line is shredding machines. They allow us to bring to zero the places where the business will continue to develop in order to prepare locations for new construction,” he said.

He added that Pronar also exports snow blowers, spreading and sweeping machines to Ukraine, which help provide transport links.

Previously, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine indicated that the country has 30 mine clearance machines, of which 25 are constantly operating.

Pronar is a Polish manufacturing company operating since 1988. According to the information on the website, it has nine production sites, its own research and development center, an airport and an exhibition center. The company claims to have a significant position in Europe in the production of agricultural, utility and processing equipment, supplying products in total to more than 80 countries. Pronar employs more than 3,000 employees.
