KYIV. Dec 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk will be on a working visit to the United States on December 4-6.
As noted by the press service of the parliamentary apparatus, the main purpose of staying in Washington is to strengthen U.S. support for Ukraine in the struggle for independence and territorial integrity.
A discussion with the U.S. partners is expected to expand military assistance to Ukraine, provide security guarantees, as well as a decision at the future Washington NATO Summit, among which the main one should be the decision on Ukraine’s membership in the Alliance.
Separately, a wide range of issues will be considered: further macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in the context of Russian aggression, support from the U.S. Congress for legislative initiatives in favor of Ukraine, and the implementation of the Peace Formula of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
During the visit, meetings are planned with high representatives of American authorities, in particular, the leaders of the Democratic and Republican parties in order to ensure further comprehensive bipartisan and bicameral support for Ukraine.
“Ukraine and the Ukrainian people are deeply grateful to the United States of America and the friendly American people for all the assistance provided, for their leadership in uniting the international community in the struggle for freedom, justice, and the rule of law,” the Verkhovna Rada chairman said on the eve of his arrival in Washington.
