KYIV. May 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna has called on the Verkhovna Rada to adopt a number of bills in May in order to implement the recommendations of the European Commission.
“At the political level, we have a common understanding that the fulfillment of seven specific political criteria is a window of opportunity to open negotiations on EU accession, and we will not go beyond the tasks defined in the recommendations,” she was quoted as saying by the press service.
Stefanishyna urged the Verkhovna Rada to adopt a number of bills in May, namely amendments to the legislation on advertising, adopted by the parliament in first reading; bills to implement the recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force on money laundering in terms of financial monitoring; amendments to the legislation on the procedure for selecting candidates for the position of a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
“This is an extremely important package of decisions that must be taken before receiving an assessment and ensuring its positive result. The calendar of our further actions will depend on it,” she said.
