KYIV. Nov 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Foreign Affairs Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives supported a bill that provides for the transfer of part of the frozen Russian assets to Ukraine, Voice of America writes.
The document was supported by 40 legislators, two voted against.
The document, in particular, provides for the allocation of additional assistance to Ukraine in the use of assets confiscated from Russia’s Central Bank and other sovereign assets of the Russian Federation, the statement says.
Also, according to the bill, the return of funds by sanctioned structures of the Russian Federation is prohibited, until Russia leaves Ukraine and agrees to pay it compensation.
Next, the bill must be voted on in the U.S. Congress.
