KYIV. June 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The state enterprise VOP CZ and the State Concern Ukroboronprom will begin joint repair of Ukrainian T-64 tanks, the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic reports.

According to the published report, state-owned enterprises have agreed to jointly repair T-64 tanks at the plant in the city of Nový Jičín.

“For VOP CZ, this is a great opportunity to repair equipment, which will then go straight to the front,” said the company’s director Marek Spok.

He added that in recent weeks, employees of his company have visited Ukroboronprom plants in Ukraine to establish mutual cooperation.

It is noted that, in general, the modernization will take place under the technical supervision of specialists from the Ukrainian side. The tanks will be equipped with optical surveillance systems, improved communications, and so on.

The exact amount of equipment that will be sent for repair to the Czech Republic in the coming months cannot be specified for security reasons. After that, the tanks will go directly to the battlefield.
