Ukraine preparing law to ensure safe environment after war – Interior Ministry

KYIV. May 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Internal Affairs is preparing a special bill on the formation of a security environment after the end of the war, Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko has said.

He spoke about this during a conversation with Minister of Internal Affairs of Estonia Lauri Läänemets, the Interior Ministry’s press service said on the official portal on Monday.

“We turned to the Estonian government to provide assistance to the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs in creating a safe environment after the end of hostilities in our country. We try to take the best from each country, and we are grateful to Estonia for the feedback that we receive every time,” the ministry said.

In turn, Minister of the Interior of Estonia Läänemets thanked the Ukrainian people for the struggle and noted that the security of all of Europe depends on peace in Ukraine: “We are confident that sustainable peace in Europe is possible only after the war, when Ukraine is integrated into Euro-Atlantic structures. We know from experience that this is not an easy road and it requires patience and reforms, but Estonia is ready to fully support Ukraine along this path.”

According to Läänemets, Estonia will make every effort to assist Ukraine in security matters, create a special tribunal for war criminals and increase sanctions pressure on Russia.
