KYIV. May 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin discussed with Head of the European Commission’s Service for Foreign Policy Instruments Peter Wagner ways to strengthen cooperation and expressed gratitude for the support in establishing the International Centre for the Prosecution of the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine, the Prosecutor General’s Office reports.
“We are sincerely grateful to the European Union for its support, especially in the creation of the International Centre for the Prosecution of the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine. I am glad to continue the conversation that we started in Brussels,” Kostin said in a message on the Telegram channel on Wednesday.
The Ukrainian Prosecutor General emphasized the priority of creating an international Special Tribunal, which will be able to ensure the full responsibility of the Russian leadership for the crime of aggression.
According to the Prosecutor General, the opening of the International Centre for the Prosecution of the Crime of Aggression (ICPA) in The Hague on the basis of Eurojust is the first practical step in this direction.
He added that another constant priority is ensuring access to justice for all citizens of Ukraine.
“Andriy Kostin and Peter Wagner also discussed the importance of resuming the destroyed prosecutor’s offices in the territories liberated from the enemy,” the Prosecutor General’s Office said in the statement.
