Velta announces new pressure on company, this time by National Police

KYIV. May 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Velta with assets for the extraction of titanium-bearing ores in Novomyrhorod (Kirovohrad region) declares new unreasonable attention of the country’s law enforcement agencies to it, this time from the National Police of Kirovohrad region.

“Now the National Police of Kirovohrad region decided to test its character. They demand a “natural inspection” of the field, as part of investigative actions with access and review of documents, seeking to establish whether we are mining within the limits set by the license,” CEO and co-owner of Velta Andriy Brodsky wrote on his Facebook page on Thursday.

He said that Velta mines ilmenite exclusively within the boundaries of the mining allotment. “I can’t even imagine how the opposite can be proved,” Brodsky said.

At the same time, he said that BES had previously initiated criminal proceedings against the company, which was subsequently closed “according to the decision of the detective himself!”

“So the searches with the seizure of documents, stocky men with machine guns – all this was, as I said, wasted public money and was caused by an order from the secret services of the aggressor state. The accusations against Velta could not be confirmed because it is impossible to confirm what does not exist! I will not be surprised that my appeal to the president and my public position were an argument not to continue pressure on the systemic business,” the CEO said.

At the same time, the head of Velta criticizes the actions of the National Police in Kirovohrad region, as law enforcement agencies continue looking for reasons to intervene and stop the enterprise that generates taxes and pays salaries, instead of fighting the real enemy.

“I understand why Velta does not give anyone peace. Because we are strategic raw materials, and today Velta is the only Ukrainian titanium enterprise that continues system shipments. Shipping to the United States!!!” Brodsky said, emphasizing that the company is actively working on a plan to build an alternative enterprise for the production of metallic titanium in the United States for the needs of the military sector in the first place.

“I’m used to always looking at the picture on a large scale. No matter what law enforcement agency knocks on the door of our company, there is always a customer behind this knock. Based on our work and, I will not be shy, the nationalist position, friends, who could it be? What do you think?” the top manager said.

The head of Velta sent information about the situation in the company to the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the National Police of the country and the Police in Kirovohrad region.
