Feed-in tariff for household solar plants after Jan 1, 2024 may be reduced in three stages by 10% – Energy Committee head

KYIV. May 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The feed-in tariff for solar power plants of private households with a capacity of not more than 30 kW, which will be established from January 1, 2024, is proposed to be reduced in three stages by 10%, said Andriy Gerus, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy and Housing and Communal Services.

“For all new power plants that will be built after January 1, 2024, the tariff will be gradually reduced by approximately 10%. And this is fair because the cost of the panels is decreasing, and their efficiency is growing,” he said in a comment to Energy Reform after a round table in the committee on the development of renewable energy in Ukraine.

“Nothing changes for the existing ones,” Gerus stressed.

He drew attention to the fact that such a norm is provided for by bill No. 9011-d, adopted at first reading in early May.

According to the text of the bill posted on the website of the Verkhovna Rada, at the first stage it is proposed for household solar stations installed in 2024 to reduce the feed-in coefficient to 2.72 compared to the current 3.02 under the law on alternative energy sources.

At the second stage, the legislator proposes to reduce the coefficient for 2025 to 2.45 (now 2.69, minus approximately 10%). At the third stage – for the last four years of the feed-in tariff 2026-2029 – to 2.21 (now also 2.69, minus almost 15%).

Accordingly, the tariff for household solar plants installed in 2025 will be EUR0.132/kWh, for those installed in 2026-2029 – EUR0.119/kWh.
