Azerbaijan increases gas exports to Turkey 17% in 11M 2023

BAKU. Jan 29 (Interfax) – Azerbaijan exported 9.2952 bcm of gas from the Shah Deniz field to Turkey from January-November 2023, 17.4% more than the same period in 2022, statistics from the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Council show.

In November last year, Azerbaijani gas exports to Turkey totaled 685.89 mcm (a decrease of 8.54% YoY).

November gas exports to Turkey totaled 4.43383 bcm (an increase of 7.54%), and included 3.57185 bcm in pipeline gas (a 51.78% increase), and 861.98 mcm in LNG (a 51.3% decrease). Supplies came from six countries: by pipeline from Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia, and as LNG from USA, Algeria, France, and Russia. Azerbaijan was the second-place supplier to Turkey with 15.5% of total exported product and 19.2% of pipeline gas supplies. Russia took first place (49.7% of all supplies), while Iran is in third (15.4%).

Azerbaijani gas produced as part of Stage-1 and Stage-2 of the development of the Shah Deniz field is shipped to Turkey.

In 2022, Azerbaijan sent 8.70998 bcm of gas from Shah Deniz to Turkey (a 1.3% decrease versus 2021).
