Ukrainian farmers thresh almost 33 mln tonnes of 2023 crop

KYIV. Sept 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Agrarians of all regions of Ukraine have harvested more than 33 million tonnes of new crop, of which 29.2 million tonnes of grains and more than 4 million tonnes of oilseeds, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reported.

According to the report, the collection of grain and leguminous crops was carried out on an area of 6.642 million hectares with a yield of 43.9 centners per hectare.

To date, barley has been harvested in Ukraine on 1.498 million hectares, which is 100% of the planned ones, of which 5.809 million tonnes have been harvested; wheat has been harvested from 4.688 million hectares (101%) in the amount of 22.142 million tonnes; peas has been harvested from 154,000 hectares (103%) in the amount of 385,700 tonnes; millet has been harvested from 16,700 hectares (20%) in the amount of 34,100 tonnes; and buckwheat has been harvested from 1,980 hectares (14%) in the amount of 27,700 tonnes.

In addition, 785,400 tonnes of other grains and leguminous crops have been harvested from 265,300 hectares.

Agrarians of 17 regions have completed the collection of rapeseed. It has been threshed from an area of 1.393 million hectares (98% of the planned area), from which 3.997 million tonnes have been harvested.

Harvesting of oilseeds has begun in Ukraine, in particular, 49,400 tonnes of sunflower have been harvested from an area of 25,600 hectares (0.5%), and soybeans – 30,600 tonnes from 11,200 hectares (0.6%).
