KYIV. Sept 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine (PGO) prevented the supply of poor-quality military rations worth UAH 430 million to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Prosecutors of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Military and Defense Sphere of the PGO have proved in court unlawfulness of the provisions of a supplementary agreement to the contract on the procurement of military rations for the Armed Forces of Ukraine concluded by the Defense Ministry of Ukraine with a commercial organization. It is about one million of such rations worth UAH 430 million,” it said on the Telegram channel on Friday.
The supplementary agreement envisaged the purchase of rations “that do not meet the nutrition standards established by the legislation for the military and does not satisfy the needs of such category of people.”
“In addition, this agreement evidences the fact that the Defense Ministry of Ukraine accepted the poor-quality products. Taking into account active and principal position of the prosecutors, the court confirmed that the supplementary agreement to the contract was concluded in violation of the current legislation and contradicts the interests of the state,” the PGO said.
