KYIV. Sept 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Kyiv City Military Administration is implementing restrictions on the entry of oversized vehicles into the capital during peak hours, starting from September 20th. The restricted hours are from 7:00 to 10:00 in the morning and from 17:00 to 20:00 in the evening. This measure aims to reduce the congestion on the city’s roadways, as reported by the Kyiv City Military Administration.
“The roads of the capital are overloaded during peak hours. People find it difficult to get to work, and special vehicles struggle to reach their destinations. Therefore, during today’s meeting of the Kyiv Defense Council, special attention was given to the issue of relieving the traffic congestion on the city’s roads. A decision has been made: starting from September 20, 2023, the entry of oversized vehicles into the capital during peak hours in the morning from 7:00 to 10:00 and in the evening from 17:00 to 20:00 will be restricted,” the administration said in a statement in its Telegram channel on Tuesday.
These restrictions will be enforced at the entry points to the city, with the police in Kyiv responsible for monitoring compliance.
“I kindly ask haulers to understand this regulation. Moreover, it’s not a novelty for the city, and most owners of oversized vehicles are familiar with such restrictions. The ban on entry during peak hours existed in Kyiv even before the start of the full-scale invasion,” Chief of the Kyiv City Military Administration Serhiy Popko is quoted by the press service.
