BAKU. Sept 13 (Interfax) – Germany imported 511,840 tonnes of oil from Azerbaijan in January-July 2023, which is 63% less than in the same period in 2022, the Federal Statistical Office of Germany (Destatis) said.
Imports decreased 71.5% in value terms to 299.944 million euro.
According to Destatis, Germany imported 69,573 tonnes of oil worth 42.713 million euro from Azerbaijan in January, 130,155 tonnes worth 80.579 million euro in February, 43.466 tonnes worth 26.917 million euro in March, and 26,329 tonnes in April worth 15.468 million euro. In May, Germany imported 70,642 tonnes with a value of 38.809 million euro, in June, it was 58,360 tonnes of oil worth 32.976 million euro, and in July, 113,315 tonnes for 62.482 million euro.
Portugal’s National Statistical Institute shows that, in January-July 2023, the country imported 356,675 tonnes of oil from Azerbaijan, a 58.3% decrease YoY, with a value of 217,862 million euro, a 64.3% decrease.
According to statistical data, in July Portugal resumed importing oil from Azerbaijan after a four-month hiatus, purchasing 137,683 tonnes, an increase of 2.3% YoY, with a value of 80.099 million euro, a 32.2% decrease.
Portugal imported 126,029 tonnes of oil worth 77.036 million euro from Azerbaijan in January, and 92,963 tonnes worth 60.727 million euro in February, the Portuguese agency said. There were no purchases in March-June.
