NCEC simplifies access to cable ducts in electronic communication networks

KYIV. Sept 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The National Commission for the State Regulation of Electronic Communications, Radiofrequency Spectrum and the Provision of Postal Services (NCEC), has approved a regulation under which the access period to cable ducts and electronic communication networks is reduced from three to four months to one to two weeks.

“A new regulation on cable ducts of electronic communication networks has been approved, which establishes the rules for providing and obtaining access to cable ducts of electronic communication networks, provision of cable ducts of electronic communication networks for use. The new norms will significantly reduce the time required to obtain access to cable ducts from three to four months up to one or two weeks, automate the processes of accounting for laid cables and other related equipment, optimize the search for routes for laying cables and provide customers with the opportunity to choose such routes themselves, taking into account their needs,” the NCEC said on Facebook.

The regulation was developed with the aim of simplifying the conditions for carrying out activities or starting them in the field of electronic communications, creating conditions for the development of infrastructure of electronic communication networks.

The draft regulation was developed in collaboration with market participants, stakeholders and the public.

“More than 70% of the 41 proposals submitted by specialists from the Ukrainian Association of Telecom Operators Telas, the Internet Association of Ukraine – InAU, the Telecommunications Chamber of Ukraine and the Ukrtelecom company were taken into account,” the NCEC said.

The regulation will come into force on the day of official publication by the Ministry of Justice.
