Ukrgazvydobuvannia increases its average daily gas production to 36.6 mcm in Aug – Naftogaz CEO

KYIV. Sept 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – PJSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia (UGV) in August increased its average daily gas production to 36.6 million cubic meters, the press service of Naftogaz Ukrainy reported with reference to CEO Oleksiy Chernyshov.

In January-February 2022, according to the Ukrainian Gas Transmission System Operator, UGV produced about 39-40 million cubic meters of gas per day.

According to Chernyshov, the increase in production is due to the successful operation of new gas wells.

Chernyshov, at a meeting with the heads of Ukrainian private gas production companies, also said that since the end of April, Naftogaz had bought over 700 million cubic meters of Ukrainian gas worth over UAH 9.2 billion on the stock exchange.

“This allowed private producers to maintain liquidity and gradually increase their gas production levels,” he said.

In turn, Executive Director of the Association of Gas Producers of Ukraine Artem Petrenko predicted that in 2024, private companies will return to the trend of increasing gas production.

The meeting was attended by heads of UGV, Ukrnafta, DTEK, Esco-Pivnich, Smart Energy, Geo Alliance, Poltava Oil and Gas Company, and Ukrtransgaz.

As reported, UGV has a goal of increasing natural gas production by 1 billion cubic meters in 2023, to 13.5 billion cubic meters. In 2022, UGV produced 12.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas (commercial), which is 3% less than in 2021.

NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy owns 100% of the shares of Ukrgazvydobuvannia.
