BAKU. Sept 14 (Interfax) – Production of petroleum products in Azerbaijan from January through August 2023 increased 13% in value terms YoY to 2.974 billion manat (about $1.7 billion), Goskomstat told Interfax.
Production of gasoline increased 21.3% to 951,200 tonnes, jet fuel was up 7.5% to 384,200 tonnes, gas oils (diesel fuel) rose 22.4% to 1.547 million tonnes, lubricating oils rose 70% to 40,000 tonnes, liquefied gas increased 8.9% to 159,600 tonnes, and petroleum coke rose 37.8%, to 160,700 tonnes.
Production of fuel oil decreased nearly 13-fold to 5,200 tonnes, and oil bitumen decreased 33.4% to 171,500 tonnes.
Stocks of finished goods at the Baku Oil Refinery (the only oil refinery in Azerbaijan, part of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, SOCAR) as of September 1, 2023 were: 22,100 tonnes of gasoline, 42,300 tonnes of jet fuel, and 97,300 tonnes of gas oils (diesel fuel). In addition, the warehouses have 2,600 tonnes of fuel oil, 4,700 tonnes of lubricating oils, 2,000 tonnes of liquefied gas, 13,600 tonnes of petroleum bitumen, and 13,500 tonnes of petroleum coke in stock.
