KYIV. Nov 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Registrations of new passenger cars in Ukraine in October of this year increased by 83% compared to October 2022 – up to 5,700 units, and 0.7% more than in September 2023, Ukrautoprom reported.
According to the association, Toyota continues to hold the lead in the market with an increase in registrations from October last year by 40% – up to 929 units, Volkswagen has the second result – 574 cars (three times more), and Skoda came into third place, pushing aside BMW (in September – fourth position) with an increase of 46%, to 477 units.
BMW has the fourth result – 461 cars (an increase of 3.6 times), and the top five, as a month earlier, is closed by Renault – 432 cars (up 60%).
The top ten October 2023 cars included Nissan with 309 units, Hyundai – 240 units, Mercedes-Benz – 224 units, Mazda – 220 units, and Peugeot – 200 units.
The title of bestseller of the month, as in September, went to the Renault Duster car – 387 registrations (in October 2022 it was the Toyota RAV4 crossover).
Ukrautoprom states that in January-October 2023, Ukrainians purchased and registered 49,600 new passenger cars, which is 60% more than in the same period last year.
