KYIV. Nov 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine will continue the reforms that it began as part of the implementation of the recommendations of the European Commission, necessary to open negotiations on accession to the European Union, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk has said.
“I am glad to welcome Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, to Kyiv and within the walls of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The visit to Ukraine on the eve of the publication of the EU Enlargement Report is certainly an important signal of support for Ukraine. Ukraine has implemented comprehensive and structural reforms as part of the implementation of the seven recommendations of the European Commission… Ukraine remains committed to the further continuation of these reforms,” Stefanchuk wrote on Facebook on Saturday.
He said that “a positive report from the European Commission, as well as an unconditional decision to begin negotiations with Ukraine by the end of 2023, is very important for Ukraine and its citizens.”
