KYIV. Nov 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection and the National Parks Board of Singapore signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of animal health to develop bilateral trade, the department’s press service reported.
“The signed memorandum will help strengthen bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Singapore, aimed at ensuring effective cooperation in the field of animal health, as well as diversification of sales markets and consolidation of ties between the two countries,” the report states.
According to the report, the purpose of the memorandum is bilateral cooperation to control, prevent, eliminate and facilitate the exchange of information on outbreaks of diseases of terrestrial and aquatic animals.
The parties will promote the expansion of bilateral trade in terrestrial and aquatic animals, as well as their products, in accordance with the standards of the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH).
The document also provides for the possibility of exchanging information on scientific, research and technological advances in the areas of control, prevention and eradication of animal diseases specified in the WHO Standards.
