Lithuania transfers NASAMS missile launch systems to Ukraine – Ministry of Defense

KYIV. Nov 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Lithuania transferred NASAMS missile launchers and necessary equipment to Ukraine, the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense reported.

“NASAMS missile launch systems purchased by Lithuania will be integrated into units of the Ukrainian army, thereby complementing and expanding the operational capabilities of NASAMS systems transferred by Norway and the United States. Our support remains an important factor in the defense of Ukraine. We hear the needs of Ukraine, we call on our allies to hear them too,” Minister of National Defense of Lithuania Arvydas Anusauskas said.

According to the department, along with NASAMS launchers, Lithuania also donated high-quality vehicles needed by NASAMS crews. A significant contribution to this support package for Lithuania was made by the Norwegian Ministry of Defense, which additionally transferred auxiliary equipment for NASAMS missile launch systems and fire control centers to Ukraine.

The Lithuanian army delivered aid to Ukraine.

The total cost of Lithuanian military assistance to Ukraine is about half a billion euros.

In October, Lithuanian Minister of National Defense Arvydas Anusauskas said at a meeting in the Ramstein format that Lithuania would soon transfer two NASAMS complexes to Ukraine, as well as electric generators and other equipment necessary for the cold season.
