Nov 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – NPC Ukrenergo has done everything in its power to join the ITC (Inter-Transmission System Operator Compensation) mechanism and is counting on a positive decision from ENTSO-E in this issue in the near future, Oleksandr Stremoukh, director of market operations at the system operator, said.
“Very great progress on the issue of joining the ITC mechanism. For our part, we did everything necessary, provided all the information that was necessary to make the appropriate calculations, answered all questions. At the last meeting in Vienna [of ENTSO-E] we were told “that this issue is being submitted for consideration,” Stremoukh said during the discussion “Merger with Europe: new rules of the game in the electricity market” organized by JSC Market Operator in Kyiv last week.
At the same time, answering questions from market participants, the representative of Ukrenergo did not name the possible time for making such a decision on the accession of the Ukrainian operator to this mechanism.
“I won’t name deadlines, we are doing a lot of work, but the final decision is not ours,” Stremoukh said.
