Klitschko discusses future restoration of Kyiv with mayor of Stockholm Wanngard

KYIV. Nov 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko met with mayor of the Swedish capital Karin Wanngard during a trip to Stockholm. The parties discussed further cooperation between the two cities, in particular, in the implementation of joint projects on the future restoration of Kyiv and in the humanitarian sphere, the press service of Klitschko reports.

“I met with Stockholm Mayor Karin Wanngaard. The capital of Sweden is the sister city of our capital. I thanked Mrs. Wanngard for the support of Kyiv and Ukraine. For helping Ukrainians who, fleeing the war, found temporary shelter in Stockholm. We also discussed further cooperation between our cities. In particular, in the implementation of joint projects. And on the future restoration of Kyiv, and assistance in the humanitarian sphere, in the social sphere. We are also interested in the experience of Sweden and specialists in the rehabilitation of military and veterans,” Klitschko said after the meeting.

Wanngard, in turn, promised that Stockholm will continue to support and assist Kyiv and Ukraine, and also stressed that the Swedish capital highly appreciates and is interested in Kyiv’s experience in the development of smart technologies in municipal administration. The mayors of the two cities agreed to cooperate in this direction.

It is noted that on Tuesday, November 4, together with many mayors of Ukrainian cities, Klitschko will take part in the German-Ukrainian conference of municipal partnerships, where a meeting with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier is also planned.
