KYIV. Nov 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Defense is working to ensure that body armor, helmets, tactical equipment, clothing and food for the Armed Forces of Ukraine are of Ukrainian origin, while the main criterion is quality and competitive price, said Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the department initiated a meeting with representatives of Ukrainian businesses who supply these products to the army.
“Entrepreneurs say that they are ready to fully provide the logistical needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with high-quality goods. In particular, at the meeting they discussed how to make cooperation between business and the state envisaged so that business can plan expenses under the order of the Ministry of Defense,” the statement said.
As reported, in 2024, the Defense Procurement Agency, a new enterprise of the Ministry of Defense, will be responsible for providing the Ukrainian Armed Forces with clothing, food, fuel and lubricants, body armor, helmets and tactical equipment.
The agency is currently preparing for its first food purchases.
