KYIV. Nov 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Slovak Defense Minister Robert Kaliniak informed NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during a meeting in Brussels about the termination of military assistance to Ukraine from Slovak reserves.
Defense Minister Kalinak went to Brussels for a meeting of defense ministers of EU member states. Kaliniak met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, whom he informed about the termination of military assistance to Ukraine from Slovak reserves, the website of the Slovak Ministry of Defense reported on Monday, November 13, 2023.
“Despite this, Slovakia offers a fairly wide range of non-lethal humanitarian, civil and technical assistance. Foreign partners fully respect the decision of the new government,” the message reads.
It is noted that “the purpose of the new leadership of the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic is also to strengthen the potential and capabilities of the armed forces in carrying out tasks aimed at preserving the security of citizens and the state.”
At the same time, Minister Kaliniak stressed that Slovakia is a responsible partner that is ready to build capacity both individually and collectively.
