Blockade of Yahodyn-Dorohusk BCP extended for another month

KYIV. Nov 22 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The blockade of the Yahodyn-Dorohusk border crossing point (BCP) on the Ukrainian-Polish border has been extended until February 1, 2024, the leader of the Polish carriers blocking the border, Rafal Mekler from the far-right National Movement, wrote on Facebook.

“We have submitted another application. The protest in Dorohusk has been extended until February 1, 2024. Accepted without reservation,” Meckler wrote.

He also announced the expansion of the blockade to the fourth Medyka-Shehyni BCP from November 23.

“On Thursday, farmers go to Medyka. Together we can do more,” Mekler wrote.

Earlier, he announced the facts of Ukrainian trucks entering through blocked border BCPs, accompanied by police. In particular, the trucks allegedly passed without queuing with the police at the Krakovets-Korczowa. To confirm his words, Mekler posted a video.

As reported, due to the protest of Polish carriers that began on November 6 at the Yahodyn-Dorohusk, Krakovets-Korczowa and Rava-Ruska-Hrebenne BCPs, queues for entry in front of blocked BCPs on the Ukrainian-Polish border in Poland reach up to 40 km. According to information released by the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, 20,000 vehicles were blocked on the Ukrainian-Polish border, and the flow of trucks through it fell by 20-25%.

The organizers of the blockade reported that, according to official permission from the local authorities, it will last until January 3, 2024.
