Due to bad weather, traffic blocked on 14 roads in Ukraine, power cutoffs in 2,019 populated areas in 16 regions – official

KYIV. Nov 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – As of Monday morning, due to bad weather, traffic on 14 roads was blocked, 2,019 populated areas were cut off from power in 16 regions of Ukraine, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported on his Telegram.

In Odesa region, the most difficult situation remains in the north and south, where snow drifts reach 1.5 meters. Rescuers, police, national guardsmen, and border guards are eliminating the consequences.

Near the village of Udobne, 42 people were evacuated from buses, among them 10 children; in addition, on the Izmail-Reni highway, rescuers using a snowmobile released six people.

In total, more than 500 vehicles were towed in the region, including 14 buses and 12 emergency vehicles. The necessary assistance was provided to 1,624 people, including 93 children, six people turned to doctors with signs of hypothermia.

In Mykolaiv region, traffic is blocked on 10 sections of roads, snow drifts reach 2 meters. State Emergency Service units were involved in eliminating the consequences of bad weather 49 times, 75 cars were towed.

In Cherkasy region, traffic is difficult near the town of Kamianka. Police officers organized traffic in reverse mode, about 40 trucks were stopped for storage. Rescuers deployed mobile heating units.

In Kirovohrad region, a traffic jam near the village of Velyka Viska has been cleared, 30 trucks are standing on the side of the road. Some 164 vehicles were towed and 293 people were assisted.

In total, 1,370 trucks are located in temporary parking areas throughout Ukraine, and 840 vehicles were towed.
